Integrated CardioPulmonary Team

Cigarette/ E-Cigarette

We are interested in examining the health effects of long-term smoking. We focus on the structural and functional adaptation of the aorta to these disease models, looking at tissue-level mechanics and understanding how it relates to the overall biological response of the cardiovascular system.

wildland firefighters

We are investigating the health consequences following acute and chronic firefighter exposure to wildland fire smoke.

ASTHMA

We combine data from Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) into  computational framework to simulate flow and drug distribution in asthmatic lungs. In addition, we model mechanical characteristics of asthmatic lungs using dynamic MRI, and we perform sensitivity analysis of our computational framework.

CANNABIS

We are studying the effects of cannabis smoking, with a focus in understanding the relative harm of different smoking modes.
